Arts Alive is a free enrichment program where students in grades 2-5 can express themselves and be creative during afterschool hours. With talented staff and students, Arts Alive is a safe space to bring the artistic passions of our students to life through the visual, musical and performing arts. All ticket proceeds help fund our costume, props and set design budget for the show.
Description
“Black in Time” is a musical written and directed by Mr. Hall to honor the lasting legacy that black people have left on society through the years. A group of bright, curious students create a time machine which stops through several important time periods for black people. Their accidental journey through time becomes a transformative experience. They return to the present day with a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices made by those who came before them, and a renewed determination to build a better future, inspired by the legacy of Black history. This script combines the truthful information of history, heritage and culture with the fun of science fiction for an educational adventure. Join us as we travel through the best decades of the black experience!
