Description
"Holiday Cantata” is a joyful, multicultural musical that celebrates the universal theme of light as a symbol of hope, faith, and unity during the winter season. Through song, dance, and narration, students lead the audience on a journey across cultures, illuminating how people around the world honor love and community through their holiday traditions.
The performance begins with a poetic reflection on the gift of holiday light, setting the stage for a series of vibrant scenes that showcase the beauty of diverse celebrations.
Each segment highlights a unique cultural tradition. We learn about Hanukkah and its miracle of the menorah, Christmas and the story of giving, Las Posadas and the search for shelter, even Kwanzaa and its seven guiding principles.
As candles, menorahs, kinaras, lanterns, and Christmas lights glow together on stage, students from all backgrounds sing, dance and unite in a powerful message of peace, love, and togetherness. Though our traditions this holiday season may differ, the light we all share is one and the same!
